the birds & the bees vintage wedding inspiration
For those of you planning your vintage spring wedding this fall, you may want to peak at this adorable “the birds & the bees” themed, vintage tea party wedding inspiration shoot turned REAL LIFE engagement by Jenn Byrne Photography. Yes, our adorable models, Meagan & Ryan, actually got engaged during this cute shoot — cue the most adorable “bride & groom” styled shoot there ever was.
I had a blast collaborating with Jenn, and Noelle, of Canvas Antiques to bring this vintage wonderland to life. We created a whimsical sweetheart table in the heart of a local iris garden, Schreiner’s Iris Garden.
I drew from the theme to create a black, white and yellow vintage floral invitation suite with modern striped accents and sketched bees and birds. I added a gold honeycomb patterned envelope liner and a vintage black and white striped ribbon to bind.
We HAD to do a honey wedding favor for this shoot. This is a simple and budget-friendly DIY favor that any spring bride could complete. I found these vintage shaped jars, and mini honey stir sticks at a local market, dip-dyed the honey stir stick in gold paint and added a custom designed wedding sticker that correlated with the wedding stationery. Fill the jar with a local honey of your choice to complete the look!
Grab the tissues, he got down on one knee at the end of the shoot right at sunset. We celebrated by digging into that gorgeous naked cake byPalace Cakes and a bottle of champagne!
Congratulations to the happy couple!
